Sammy’s Story

Sammy was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He was raised in performance. He trained and performed in Denver during his upbringing, focusing on singing, dance, and acting. He went on to go to college for acting in New York City. He earned his degree in performance for tv and film and has performed Professionally on stage and screen. In the past few years he has turned his focus partly to teaching and coaching. He believes in safety of the mind, body, and soul in performance. He teaches discipline, work ethic, and process as the way to differentiate the good from the great.

Since he started teaching and coaching he has been an adjudicator at the 2023 international thespian festival. In the last few years he has helped several high school seniors into the top school of their choices including Pace University, New York University, University of Southern California, The American academy for Dramatic Arts, New York Conservatory for Dramatic arts, SCAD, RADA, Columbia, The Julliard School, and several more. He also is a workshop presenter at the 2024 international thespian festival with his workshop “Stop overthinking your acting!! Trust the work!!”

He also was the creative and performance director at Golden Senior High School’s Stage Right Productions for three years from 2022-2025.

In 2024 Sammy Meneses joined former teammates Allie Matsuo and Anthony Tyrell-Ead to form Icarus Endeavour. An outreach programs to help not only high school theater programs but to help students gain acceptance into the college of their choice.

In 2025 SJM Acting Works additionally partnered with Jason Lemire TIFE (theater is for everyone) to help reach out and offer workshops to theater programs and conventions around the country.

He is currently a full time private acting coach and he is working on a book about acting technique.

As a Gay, mixed filipino actor and performer, Sammy believes in inclusivity and equal opportunity all around. He is proud to be any room he is in and continues to push for spaces for himself and for other marginalized communities and creatives.
